You see 16 .2 because you have a nice alt i've been trying to get you to help me with that

i mean that all my power is going to the amps and not anything else hardly
what kind of stereo places do you have around you cause im sure if you went in there they would find a good alt for you and have them install it that way you dont have to deal with the hassle. it took me 8 or more hours for the amp install but that includes going to get materials as i went

Here's another overlooked thing on dimming lights.
How much did you spend on your battery?
I ask, because in my Neon when I had my crappy Farm and Fleet battery my lights would dim like nuts with my system. When that finally crapped out I decided to make an investment in an Optima Yellow Top. Installed that thing and bam no more dimming lights...ever
Just my .02 dollars...err I mean cents :zing:

i have the stock battery with the yellow top and dim but theres nothing i can really do about it. but for you guys running 1000 watts or less buy a yellow top you wont regret it, it dramaticly helps everything like if you have fog lights, stereo , etc.

that battery is not 100farads.... farad is a unit of energy used for caps... But kinetik says that battery is comparable to a 100f cap. And concerning the cca on it ive yet to see an actual rating on the kinetik site about the ca, cca, and/or the ah of any batteries they offer... the number you are refering to is what kinetik uses to = watts of stereo. Example if you have a 800w system then you should add that hc800 (according to kinetik)
also the smallest battery is the hc600 not the 800 model
also the smallest battery is the hc600 not the 800 model

When running high power amplifiers like that the best route is to get your alternator rebuilt to about 200amps and then use a good size capacitor to back it up. Any good alternator rebuild place can rebuild anything you want to a higher amperage and usually with in 1-3 days depending on what parts they need. Oh and fuses are your friends.

For people who don't know what it is, The "Big 3" upgrade is upgrading the following:
1. Battery Negative to Chassis
2. Alternator Negative to Chassis
3. Alternator Positive to Battery Positive
Now, because the battery is in the trunk i needed quite a bit of wire, I calculated that i'd need about 2AWG wire to handle the current from the engine to battery for the least resistance with my power levels, but i found 0/0AWG for cheap, so I compromised.
This is a legendary upgrade for people with High Current Audio Setups (I'm running about 100amps continuous in the trunk). It should dramatically reduce voltage drops related to car audio amplifiers.
Will update this thread with my results. For all of you who dont know waht 0/0AWG is, here is a pic with a penny for reference, its some nasty stuff!
