blew em...

i blew my subs today... im mad. i want some new ones... what would you recommend??? http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...MRPM450&tp=115 thats the amp i have.

bump... could i use this box http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_ID=3523 and just widen up the holes to fit 12"s? the volume is right... and thats the box i already have for my blown 10"s

you can but dont do it. And the answer to your PM is no. Dont even think about it because thats not going to get you louder or anything close to it. Your subs were being over powered in the first place and your settings might have been wrong. Check the settings first other wise more blown speakers are in ur future

why widen them in the first place? while 2 12s might be louder your going to want bigger 12s power wise and most of the time they will ask for a bigger box as well

im not saying its "bad" im saying you need to figure out what your going to do first before going at your box with a jigsaw and a crazy eye

Look at the whole picture and what is going to be the best overall setup and how much your spending. If you are buying 2 cheap small subs theres a good chance they will blow again. If you buy 2 bigger subs it might be more expensive then a single big sub and a badass ported box. Think of all the variables first

i think i might go with those kenwoods. i dont have a whole lot of money but i think with an RMS of 800 watts and me pushing 400 to them, it might be a better idea. and what should my settings be at when tuning the subs??

my HU is the pioneer FH-800BT and i dont have bass boost on my amp... thats in my HU. i have GAIN, BASS EQ, and LP FILTER on the AMP.

a single kenwood 12 in a ported box would probably be louder then 2 in a sealed

would in a ported box be better than my 2 10"s that just blew?? i would only be pushing like half the wattage that the subs RMS is.

those kenwoods arent 800w rms and even if they were you only have 500w rms anyway
