Cant play music videos/DVD's on p4000

Cant play music videos/DVD's on p4000

Just got it installed and tried to play some music videos I had burned to a DVD, the HU wouldnt even recognize them and they wouldnt show up at all so I converted them to a WMV which should work the the p4000...Still dosent even show up when I try to play them, and when I put in a movie I could hear sound but not see the video at all. The music videos were straight off Itunes..

I have the parking brake switch bypassed btw...anyone have any ideas?

Nope so they have to be divx? I thought it could use wmv

i downloaded a bunch of music videos and have mine bypassed ( not the p4000 but a pioneer unit ) and had to convert to divx to burn them and get it to play, however it will play some off of a usb device if i hook one up, not all tho. check out avic-411 dot com for details

i thought it had to be an actual dvd to play the video (burned vob)

all try the divx but ill prob just end up getting a large capacity USB soon and loading them all on that....will it still need to be divx if its on a USB?

i dont know on that unit specificlly. I know on the new 3200, 4200 they play the avi files directly off the usb

my kenwood is dvix but it doesnt play them off the usb so for the 4000 idk i never tried it personally

alright well there converting to .avi now and i just got a fresh new 32gb flash drive so they better work

ya i bought a HDD for videos but turns out kenwood screwed me over on that one... so i had to get an ipod

How did you do the bypass? For the new pioneers you can no longer just ground the wire and get picture

well the avi files didnt show up either...i just emailed eclipse but maybe it has to be in a .divx format? Idk it seems weird that they wouldnt even show up...

and its bypassed by grounding with a switch and im able to flip the switch and get rid of parking brake restrictions when im in drive so i dont see why it wouldnt be the exact same for videos

ive never used the actual dvix format just avi. but i had the same issue man they didnt show up at all. oh and ill take it when u said u e-mailed eclipse u meant pioneer??

yea pioneer...**** eclipse they didnt even answer my last one...

but this is extra skeet it shouldnt be this difficult to play videos on a DVD PLAYER

whenever i put in a actual DVD movie (step brothers) it starts playing and I can hear the movie just cant see the picture...am I supposed to have something connected to the video preouts? it seems like its a setting thats just messed up or something simple...

noo right when i put in the DVD the bypass **** comes up and once its bypassed i can hear sound and all the menu's pop up and **** just no video...

hmm its gotta be a setting then try disconnecting it and reconnecting to reset it and see what happens

(or try yanking the radio fuse and the acc fuse u tapped then waiting 30 secs or so)

i unplugged the battery i figure ill let the entire car reset, ill let you know what happens when i try again...

should i have soemthing connected to the video preouts?

did you test the converted file on your computer before bringing it over to your headunit? what resolution did you put these conversions in and are these downloaded music videos?

Push the reset button on the deck and itll work. same thing happened to me on my 4100.

I'll try although I've reset before...but there downloaded off iTunes

Reset didn't work it still does the same thing and pioneer didn't even respond to my email about what type of file it has to be..

check if you have a region code setting on your hu
