Car Audio Question

how do i hook up an amp to the pioneer highs we have in our car (tweeters and mids)

no one?

ok well its simple then, wire up the amp... ya know the rca's and the power,ground and remote wire..then with your 2 channel amp wire that up to the crossover that im assuming the pioneer system has for your front speakers... i would splice into the wires close to the cd player so you dont have to run new wires into the door, as running them through the door could be a pita

well the speakers are stock...so i splice the wires and extend them back to the amp correct?

or am i wrong?

well, youd have to find the crossovers, and run the speakers to the crossovers and then run that to the amp, and considering how much of a pain it might be finding the crossovers, since your doing the wiring anyway, i would just get a new set of speakers if i were you.

as far a i know with the stock pioneer system in the cobalt the stock amp is a 6 channel? i am pretty sure that i read that on here. the head unit goes into the stock amp and then the amp controls the speakers and the stock 10" sub.

no crossovers in the stock system sry

Raven already took it to PM so we will get it all straightened out but heres a basic idea from the FAQ for anyone else wondering. I can go more into detail but thats a quick version of what you would be looking at
