Converting to power?
Converting to power?
I have a 2006 Cobalt LS that came with factory power locks but no power windows or mirrors. I was thinking of having the windows converted to power and was looking at the SPAL power window kits. I was wondering if anyone knows how reliable they are. I would hate to have it done and the window motors die or something go wrong. Other aftermarket kits seem to be junk from what i see from reviews, but i seen from certain sites that SPAL is a good company. Any suggestions? Thanks for your time!
That was my original plan, but i'm not that mechanically inclined and i don't know everything i would need to buy. i've tried searching ebay and amazon for OEM parts, but couldn't find anything.
Yeah, im sure they are factory power door locks. Mine is one of the few that come partially loaded. Mines got crank windows. I would really like to have power windows because the cranks are tough to turn
well my friend you have encountered one veary important aspect of moding a car, trial and error

ok so to do this all you should need are the motors and new window switch bezels, and lotsa wires to run. since u already have the windows and guides.. hopefully theres no difference between the two types of windows like a bracket or something
p.s. my factory power windows are SLOOOOOOOW. i could crank them faster by hand if they were crank

I found 2 regulators with motors and the master and passenger switches and have ordered them. i need to find the wiring harnesses now, but i cant find them. would someone kindly point out where i can get them as cheaply as possible? or does someone know if a cobalt equipped with power door locks but manual windows comes with all wires needed for the windows as well? Thanks.
