custom fiberglassed enclosures

Just seeing if anyone out there had a custom fiberglass enclosure done in their cobalts? Me and my friend are in the process of putting in a custom fiberglass enclosure in my car. Along with a flipout and a pair of pioneer 6.5's and 6x9s. Ill post pics once everything is done.

I built one for a single 12 R-type to fit where the factor sub is in the pioneer system. I braced it up with 1/2" partical board though rather than MDF and the resonance factor was pretty bad and I quickly scrapped it. I now have the MDF, mat, fleece, body puddy, and resin to do a new one but have been too busy to put the time into building a new one.

I personally wouldn't do one out of straight glass because of the amout it would take. I would do as much as you can out of wood and then glass the rest just because it is cheaper. It takes some pretty thick layering to get one strong enough and they sound a little different than ones that are braced with wood. Now, if that sound is actually better or worse is all up to the person listening to it.

My box has been put on hold all summer but we are starting to work on it again here soon. The only part that will be fiberglassed on my box will be the top section. The rest is out of MDF. Hopefully it will turn out the way i want it to.

I just have some cheap 10" pioneers. I wasnt going for the loud ass rumble haha. I like these since they give my system a little thump. I havent even started on fiberglassing yet. Just been building the lower part of the box and the rest of the trunk.
