In-dash Nav Quick Question

where do you guys find it best to run your gps antenna? ill be installing my nav tomorrow, just curious as to where you found out to be the best spot

outside of the vehicle. on the trunk lid is the easiest to hide in most cases

that seems like it would require a pretty long antenna cord. Im not sure if mine would even reach that far.

ya it requires a long one. it shoudl come with one long enough but then again alot of companies have been slacking off

I always had the idea of putting the nav antenna in place of the factory xm antenna on mine, but do base models have those? I always thought that would be a clean look!

yea i have the xm antenna. i dont think all base models do though, just the ones with xm obviously

i think it would be more of a pain in the ass then its worth to be truthful

as in you just crammed everything back in the dash without running it anywhere? that thought came to my mind too..

Well since it attached by a magnet a stuck it to one of the metal supports near the top of the dash, but ya basically, made it much simpler and easier to install

yea mine is a magnet too.. I believe i remember seeing you had a pioneer and so do i so i probably have the same magnet gps antenna dealio going on. sticking the magnet to the metal was my first option i thought of. glad to hear it worked good. Ill probably go that route

if that is on the outside of the vehicle make sure to attach 3m tape unless u want it to **** up ur paint

no we were talking about just having it deep buried in the dash.. apparently that works just fine by attaching it to some of the metal cross beams in there
