Do I need a new headlight bulb?

I have one of though halo 1st gen light you can see in the pic below, i have had them installed for about a year now. the problem is that one of the headlight bulb goes out sometimes and goes on sometimes. Does this mean the bulb need replacing or is the wiring is messed up?

Ya it works for a few mins then it turns off its werid, I guess its a wiring problem. I may have to take the headlight out to get behind it.

YOu do not have ballasts. your running halogen bulbs. And Dead is correct it either works or it doesnt. Sounds like a wiring issue, make sure all your connections with your lights are tight.

OK ill just got around to trying to fix the light ( been out of the country) and i got the headlight out and now im having trouble getting the light bulb out. Do i just pull it out? Ive pulling really hard and it doesn't move at all. Any special way of pulling out the light? I can take pic of it if anyone wants to know what im talking about.

Thanks

I HAD A SIMILAR ISSUE...

blew 2 bulbs and had one go off and on. i took out the headlight and checked the wiring. The problem was where there wires were spliced in to make the Halos and LEDS work. i used crappy parts when i first got it and water would cause a short. RE-WIRE / RE-SPLICE the connectors. go to your local auto parts store and get the water proof connectors that you have to take a torch to for the shrink wrap. should solve your problems

Mine use to go off and on and now its off altogerher. A short would cause just the projector bulb to go out? Everything else works great, I think my bulb is out...look at this pic of a H1 bulb mine looks like there nothing connecting these 2 parts

if there is nothing connecting the bulb, then yes its blown. that could have been caused by a short. i once had a fuse blow on me. didnt know it at first. tried to replace the bulb and it still didnt work. thats when i found it was a fuse issue. pull out both light and make dam sure that the splices aren't getting wet or have bad connections. ELECTRICAL TAPE is not good enough. especially if you removed the stock airbox. water will get in there on the passenger side.

Get new bulbs, water-proof connectors. re-do the splicing right, take your time, and there should be no more problems
