So very recently, say within the last week, my door chimes (excluding blinker clicks) starting getting very weak and crackling. Last night, boom, nothing. Now here's the little technical details: It's an 07, stock headunit and speakers, the "door ajar" warning on the HUD still works. So anyway anyone got any ideas what could be wrong? I almost locked my keys in the car last night because of lack of chimes.

*update* just noticed on my way to work that my seatbelt warning chimes do not work, and my tweeters do still work (heard that could cause issue)

 

I believe the chimes come through the left door speaker, not 100% on that though.

Is the lower speaker working ok or is it having issues as well?

If the speaker and wiring are ok, it could be something with the bcm - way out of my league I'm afraid....

Anyone know how the bcm gets the chime sounds to the speaker?

 

all the sounds come from the LF speaker. Its highly unlikely that only some of your sounds dont work properly, and some do, its more likely that the blinker click is just a frequency that isnt affected. Check your speaker wires in the door and the speaker itself.
