Door Locks Updated Your all going to love this

I have a 05 Cobalt 2 door and my door locks on both sides do not work. The key fob also dose not work. The truck won't pop by the key fob but will with the button in the car. Now I know you can put a battery in the key fob but like I said it will not work when you hit the lock or unlock on both driver or passenger side doors. Any clues? Windows do work along with mirrors.

Update:

So I pulled my door panel off and took a look see. First thing I see it broken wires taped off. Then as I start to look around more the wires broken are the ones that go to the actuator (spelling). So thats fine I can just re connect the wire and it should work again. Well I pulled the door actuator out and the wire plug is gone missing completely. So I have nothing to connect the broken wires to. I have work done by a dealership 4 years ago for this and the door locks haven't worked since. Now I know why. The dealership has since changed hands (Basil of Wellsville to something else). They won't do anything for it. So how do I make a new plug for it. It is only two plug connecter. [/I]

Have you checked out all of your fuses (both inside and out)?

The power door lock actuators are garbage on these cars. Over time they begin to fail. Are you still able to get the door open with the key? Do you hear the motor try and engage on for the locks?

I can't imagine both door actuators and the truck actuator all dying at the same time.

Dumb question but is there a reciver for the key fob? Yes the truck will open from inside but not from the outside (lock frozen) or from the key fob. The door locks will open from key only. The door lock inside the car on both doors in inop and the key fob will also not work. If I press the passager door lock inside the car hard enough the car will ding for the alarm but the door itself will not lock.

Yes, the key fob has a receiver. It is referred to as the alarm module (sometime locking module).

Didn't read that the trunk wasn't working on it as well. Only thing with the the key fob not working is the fact that the door lock switches don't work either so its gonna be something completely different like a ground wire, power wire or a relay/fuse probably.

The problem with these cars is the keyfob loses the programming to the car and also the remotes if you open them up the solder connections also fall apart. there is a U shape ring that holds the battery and it will just fall out or one side comes out of the board, check that. there is nothing wrong with the car itself. check those two things
