factory upgrade?

Alpine SPR-69 ~~~ 100 Watts RMS
Alpine Electronics of America, Inc.

Alpine SPR-60C ~~~ 110 Watts RMS
Alpine Electronics of America, Inc.

these 2 to replace the speakers i have.

what do you guys think?

if you plan on keeping the stock hu and just changing the speakers nothing else id look into the 2 ohm infinity or jbl speakers

i already have a hi/lo adapter... so yea, im keeping the stock hu

edit: ohh, and i have 2 alpine type r subs, powered by a pdx 1.1000. planning on putting them in, but never had time.

What ohm are these Alpines?

I love that component system though.

I'll be on the lookout for your decision, because I wanna upgrade as well, but don't really know what.

Wish I didn't feel obligated to stick with Pioneer, due to the stamping on the tweeters and sub already, lol.

99.8% of aftermarket speakers are 4 ohm. the only reason this is a problem is when hooked up to the factory amp they only receive 1/2 power since stock speakers are 2 ohm. so while its still an upgrade most speakers will get quieter + an aftermarket comp set wastes more power thru the crossover

well. i will get an aftermarket amp for the speakers. probably a 500 watt rms

and have the pdx 1.1000 amp hooked to the subs, 1.5 farad cap to both amps.

you should sell your ****... seriously... im pretty sure there is some one out there with a cobalt, that has already dont a speaker upgrade. but thinks 4 speakers is not enough... i am one of them, but im currently dead with the bread until car payments is done. hahaha

but many new cars, my old benz even, came with 10+ speakers. a woofer in the dashboard even... lmaooo.
