Flickering HID kit

I just got finished installing my HID kit, I have it setup with a relay, although no matter what the situation is (car on-off etc) the lights flicker just a little bit - not alot, but enough to be annoying. Anyone have an idea as to why this is happening? I've searched on here, but nobody has really collectivity come up with one thread that's easy to follow on this issue.

I did a little research on this and from what i have read it seems to be a relay issue, try changing out your relays or checking the connections on the ones you have.

What are u using for power and ground.

I also found that some people fixed the problem by putting a CAP on the relays heres a link on how to:

i dont have flickering but i installed my HIDs using different grounds then the stock harness ground. that makes me think its a ground problem.

you need a relay kit. my first pair of HID's i didnt the relay kit, but the hid's blew out in about three months, the ones that i have on now have lasted me about 9 months and i do alot of night time driving.....make sure you have a really good ground and try and run a cable from your battery in the trunk to power the ballasts, thats what i did and i havent had an issue yet.

Why run a wire all the way from the Battery when you can tap into the jumper post in the fuse box up front, which goes right to the battery anyway?

I tapped the battery post in the front for the power on the relay (which I got from 3bspec). For my ground I'm using a bolt around that area that some other wires are grounded too (stock).

Its weird they don't flicker alot, it just seems like there's a bug or something inside my lens just moving around kinda, its weird.

Xavipheus, I don't if this will help you but before I got my Cobalt I had HIDs on my Dodge Stratus and about a month's time went by and one of the ballast finally killed over, and I had them hooked up to the relay that was recommended. But it all started with the slight flickering and it got worse. I was always told that if you get cheap ballasts, it isn't going to last long. So after the one ballast went out, I went ahead and got a pair of expensive nice name brand ballasts and as far as I know the ballasts are still running strong and the ballasts are about two years old, maybe even older.
