2005 2 dr LS. Are the speakers 5.25 or 6.5? Will a pair of infinity reference 6.5" fit in the door?

6.5 yes you will need a speaker adapter thou you can make one or i belive there are a few on ebay but fitment issues have been brought up

 

Well, I dont think you need a adapter i have two 6.5 infinity kappas in my 05 base and no problem!!!!!

Just remember to change the rear speakers their 6x9s

 

if you have the pioneer system then the speaker/ adapter are separate. Now you can screw some self-taps into the metal at 45 degree angles and leave it all ghetto like but i wouldn't recommend it

 

I saw your set up it was pretty tight!!!!!

but the pioneer adapters can be use by any 6.5 speaker

ya but the non pioneer systems dont have said adapter... the speaker is molded into the adapter all in one style. I really dont know why they did that its retarded that they made BOTH. several factory speakers are molded into the adapter but if gm/pioneer made the adapter piece why not use it for all cobalts?

well thats sorta the ghetto way of doign it but it works. the main goal it to make sure its "sealed up" so the front and rear waves dont counteract
