same here. my gf bought the 4100. only thing it does better imo is the backgrounds, and that it shows pictures.

I have the 4100 too. How hard was the hookup? I need to get the dash kit and harness for it. I'll be installing the Pioneer CD-BTB200, XM controller and PAC SWI-X all at the same time. Hoping it's not going to be THAT difficult. Any tips for me Chinelli as I will be doing this in about 2 weeks?

When I installed mine I had to cut out the black plastic in the back. I also removed the metal plate thing back there. I'm not sure if I had too, but with all those harnesses it doesn't hurt to have extra room. I followed a write up that I found on here:

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/how-guide-43/how-wire-install-pioneer-avic-f900bt-f90bt-f700bt-2008-cobalt-ss-162483/

I wired everything up like this said too and it worked perfectly. One side note though, the PAC SWI-X can't be programmed without a remote I guess. Well, I didn't by the optional remote so as of right now my steering wheel controls don't work. I have it at my house in NY. I'll tear my car apart on Thanksgiving when I'm back home. To get the video to work while car is in gear I just used a standard relay that I got from Autozone. If you google how to wire the bypass with a relay you'll find which pins hooks up to everything. Wiring it straight to ground didn't work. I guess it needs to see it switch on and off. I wired up a PS2 with it too. I heart it If you got any questions lemme know man

Hey Chinelli, have you tried to play any burned video discs in your 4100 yet? I made a cd and dvd of music videos I have and none of them play on mine, it keeps telling me that it's an unplayable disc. It says on Pioneer's site that there are only 4 types of media supported, mp3/wma/aac/divx. I have tried all of those so far, and nothing.

you can do custom backgrounds with the 4000 along with being able to pick what color you want?
