Got the AVIC-D3 in!!!

It's pretty sweet! I love it, just from what I have used so far. Got it hooked up with the bluetooth module and a 30GB ipod video. Install was a breeze, much easier than I was expecting. I took some pics though I was drinking when I was installing it so I didn't take a whole lot toward the end during the install, reign is going to be mad at me hahaha.

But the PAC SWI-PS interface worked like a charm, all of the steering wheel controls work. I ran the iPod cable over to the little cubby hole that folds down where the trunk release is so the ipod will just stay in there. Bluetooth module a mounted right under the dash on the driver side, and the mic is just up on the sun visor. GPS antenna is in the right corner of the dash. (Note: that little plate it is mounted on in the corner is getting trimmed down to the size of the GPS antenna. It looks cheezy like it is there in the picture)

For the install stuff, use these metra part numbers, there is no repinning involved or anything, just plug it in and go. I tapped the ACC wire off of the sunroof fuse.

Dash Kit: 95-3302
Wire Harness: 70-2103
Antenna Adapter: 40-GM10

Also I painted the dash kit silver to try and match the rest of the dash, looks better than the black IMO.

If you have any questions, just ask! I will be writing up a how-to over the next day or so, trying to be as thorough as possible.

I have more pics that will be with the how-to.

That looks sweet man! I like how you colour matched the dash kit. How are you hooking up the iPod to the unit? through the Aux input in the front or an iPod kit for the unit? I am just curious because I would really want to get a nav system...

No I never did, if you can just tell me which wire it was on which connector I can figure it out. I drove around though and the GPS was really accurate without it so I'm wondering if I should even bother...

Not really sure yet, haven't played with that yet but I don't know if there is much other that just using the voice controls of my cell phone through the bluetooth.

Yeah it's an actual ipod adapter cable that goes to the back of the unit. You control the ipod through the head unit which is really nice. Even will play video off of the ipod!

you need the speed sensor for the extras on the unit and also if you ever go into tunels.

it is on the vertical bcm module in the passenger center kick [anel, its either in pin 61 or 62 its the grey wire, there is only one wire in those 2 pins one is empty, i just cant remeber the exact number

just use the metra harness there is no special wiring needed to retain the factory pioneer system

the blue tooth only can do voice controls to your cell phone not to the unit itself

Ok, I will go look at that later, I wasn't sure because there are 2 connectors down there and I didn't know which one it was. Thanks for the tip.

Eh sounds a little louder I guess, but I don't think there is that much of a different since the stock Pioneer system has its own amplifier.
