hey FYI just be careful with those pre made boxes. They arent made to sound the greatest. honestly if i were you I would get a custom box made for your subs because those pre made boxes dont work and WILL after some time Blow them. But other than that... looks good...

Oh and the reason i say they will blow is because you cant just throw any sub into any box. its all about air pressure inside the box. You have to get the right amount of air space for the right amount of pressure. if there is not enough air space there will be too much pressure on the cone of the sub and cause it to blow.

I have been told by a few to buy some speaker harness adapters for the door speakers due to the new speakers not fitting??? Is this true? Any help on this?

on a lt yes... but u can fab something up out of wood if u have acess to a few tools.... and fyi the prefab boxes aren't really going to destroy a sub but the unfavorable size or tuning isn't good when someone is bumping it all the time. if normal volume is used then the only reason to go custom is the ovious more output and cleaner sound

Where can I find those speaker adapters just to keep them in mind?

crutchfield.com might have a set. I would have gone with components for the fronts and rears myself, but it's better than stock I guess.

doubt you can find the speaker adapters anywhere but gm. they only come stock on the pioneer systems and no aftermarket company is going to sell them. see what you can do in a parts dept at your local dealership

Figured I'd update. Took a good 4 hours to hook up the new speakers, the subs, and the amp. Turns out the wiring harness I was using (Schosche GMLAN2SR) does not work on my car. It was routing the accessory power wire through the LF+ speaker wire... so I went on Crutchfield and spent the dough on a GMOS-LAN-03 module. This will be going in Friday, along with my attempt to tune the amp. Hoping it sounds good! I'll have pics up in a few days.

all u needed to do was re run an acessory to the fuse box. 99% of all new gm cars require this and im 50% sure the gm lan harness wont have the switched wire as well. But if your an 07 then at least your getting chimes now

the mobile install bay at BB should have the gm lan harnesses too thou no?

Nope. No big Metra harnesses at my store, it's all Scosche.

All Best Buy employees get 5% over cost for all items in the store... and mark up on car audio is.. well... HUGE (about 40% on decks, 60% on amps, 70% on subs, and 80% on speakers)! So, I'll leave it at that.

Dude, nice set up. I just have one word.....

...Dynamat! Don't rattle your car apart and destroy your new car. Bass can do wicked things.

I am considering Dynamat. Just bought a Bass Mekaniks CD and was listening on just the Pioneers and it's rattling the back a little. I'm nervous about the car itself. May just end up doing the trunk for now (that's where it needs it anyway).

i remember when i worked at best buy the discound on car audio was about 50% on speakers and amps and about 20% or a little more on head units. this was like 4 years ago tho it may have changed.

(discount)^^

Been fairly happy with the setup so far, but decided to now sell the subs and box...

Going to sound dampen the doors and trunk, then getting a single 10" Digital Designs 3500 sub in a custom ported box. Going SPL with this one with the same Alpine amp.

The same sub in an 8" with a smaller amp made 148db on the meter at our local shop, so the 10 on a bigger amp should be nice

i dont think the 8 is a 3500 is it? I could be wrong but normally the magnet doesnt change on different size subs and i know the mag on the 3500 def isnt the same as the one on the 8

The 8 was a 2500 I believe. Had the 12" magnet on it (cool part on DD), still hits ridiculous for that size of a sub.
