I have an '06 SS/SC g85 package with onstar. Does this mean I can't replace the stereo in my car because I have onstar? I want to get something new, but don't want to lose onstar and would like to keep the steering wheel controls as well. Thanks.

 

There is a harness made to retain all of these features, not sure the name but there is another thread for FAQs that will answer all your questions I'm sure

Yes. You need the special Metra kit 99-3303 to retain your OnStar when installing an aftermarket head unit. Oh, you will also need a 40-GM10 for your radio. Lol.

If you want to keep your OnStar you need the Metra part # 99-3303. It includes your wiring harness, data harness, and mounting kit but it does not have the antenna adapter that you need. It's a 40-GM10. You will need that to keep your AM/FM radio.
