my lights are dimming real bad and the MRP1000 shuts off after 30 min of playing...

Get a good capacitor. It will take the strain off the battery and should keep the headlights from dimming. Rule of thumb is for every 1000 watts being used in your system should have 1 farad capacitor (i.e 2,000 watt system = 2 farad capacitor).

The dimming is because the alternator cant keep up with the current drain along with "The Big 3" being too small. Do a search on the big 3 and you will see what I am talking about.

Yellow top is a good idea, but the cap is just a temp fix. The underlying problem is not being able to supply 14.4v all the time, upgraded wires and possibly an alternator is a more permanent solution. But its not for everybody cause lots of people dont want to run new wires, or put in a different alternator.
