Help designing System for new whip

Aright boys, i just got a 2006 chevy cobalt SS.

this is what i kept from my other system (i let go of my headunit, and door speakers)

Two Memphis 12" subs
Interfire Amp for the subs (1000 watt, 1 channel)
Zapco 4 channel Amp for the door speakers. (500 watt, 4 channel) I had coaxial speakers, but i think i wanna get comp set this time around, thinkin maybe cadence, diamond, JBL, DLS.

I havent decided if i wanna get a new headunit or go with stock.

What do you guys suggest i do??

Oh and my budget is a college student soo dont go crazy lol

the stock speakers are actually pretty good. i just suggest that you get an aftermarket head unit so you can tune the speakers. i have 2 12's running off a hi to lo converter and they dont hit as hard as i would like them to cause i dont have the head unit yet. good luck

damn big money zapco ,cadence ...i haven’t started my system yet. To damn broke.. But i am an installer. Well use to be but now im back to just doing it as a hobby.

with that Amp it would sacrileges to not go with comps and a new head unit..
iv had problems in the past with pioneer hus and 4 channel amps. i would almost always get white noise ,or minor ground noise.
Id go with eclipse maybe the cd7100 or cd5100 id go 7100 just because of the 8v preouts .

darn, My Lazer blue amps won't match....they might look nice though....But you have amps....Anyway, JBL C608GTI components, 225 shipped, if your interested in going that route. (extremely nice components) bridge your 4 channel and run the 2 in front and you'll be happy.

Trickster: If you still want the JBL Gti's for 200, I'll let em go Shipping included, they will be up on Ebay to start the New Year though.

The Blue Amps are for sale...Along with everything else for the Lazer Blue car (as is the Car $18,000 OBO)
