help with highs on sony amp!!
ok mabe someone can help me out here im trying to hook up 4 speakers so the high level imput on my sony amp model numbe rim not sure of but its 2 channel blah blah ok so i have the high level connector which looks like this
L R
+ -
- +
ok so its 4 wires total on a seperate connector that plugs into the amp so i take 2 sets of speaker wire which makes 4 individual wires and run them from the amps high level imput connector to the front . now im haviung a grand old time taking the radio out and cutting all 8 speaker wires, hopefully everysone is still keeping up lol so now we have
FL FR RL RR
+- +- +- +-
so if i am correct we have 8 wires that we need to make into 4
so i take the + from both FL&FR and connect them to L+
then the FL&FR - and connect it to R -
then i take the RL&RR - and connect it to the L -
then the RL&RR + and connect it to the R+
hopefully im still correct
then hook up my RCA cables to the Front Output of my deck and i have no sound??
so i got the best idea in the world and took 2 wires and put them onto the terminals on the amp where u would normally put the subs that was suck a great idea that u know what happened ? BOOM and now we got a little fireworks goin on lol but everything is ok i hope with the exception of a few fuses popped............................................ .................................................. .................................................. ............now before i put on my flmae suit and before u guys fire up the torches lol heres a few things......the head unit has preamp outputs for front, rear and subwoofer, so is it possible that i need a 4 channel amp with high level output for this to workinstead of using this method on a 2 channel amp ? is my wiring correct? someone help!!

grammar? Are you serious. I don't speak properly on the Internet in fact the only reason this is properly punctuated is because I'm typing on my iPhone. Go talk about grammar to the Town of Dewitt Police Department or NYS Police Department LOL ............. Now as for everyone who is trying to help the method I'm using produces no sound I checked all connections. I really don't want to pay circuit city to do this but if I have to I will LOL tommarow I'll have a little more daylight to work with so hopefully we can make progress
