help keep blowing amp fuses!!!!
I tried everything i know of to keep my amp from blowing fuses. As soon as the radio turns on 2 fuses blow in the amp. I took all the wires out except the remote wire ground and power and turned the car on and they STILL blew. Im stuck i have no idea what to do. Ive been working on it for many days and im getting frustrated. I need help please. i also installed the headunit at the same time. the headunit works.
Thanks for the help.
another thing is the first time i turned it on it worked for 2 mins and i shut it off then turned it back on and it didnt work. so that makes me really confused.

The fuses are rated to the amp.
the fuses are attached to the amp. (there connected to the amp at the bottom)
im pretty shure my step dad helped and he just wired a hole new system in his truck.
i grounded the amp to the spot the where the battery is grounded to .
The ground wire is 4 or 8 gauge ill check
thank you
how does a amp get blown?
what are the symptoms?
IT IS 4 GUAGE WIRE GROUND AND POWER

Cuz i had the same problem with my sub and i upgraded the fuse and it works fine now. Go to your local stereo shop and tell them, they'll know the right size fuse or tell you if the amp is blown.

amps get blown a few diff ways. running not enough power to them is one way. turning them up too high is another way, too much heat not enough ventilation is another. failing pieces inside like a fan. water getting in them (like going from 10 below to running hard very quickly)
wireing the speakers incorrectly ive seen amps blow. also what type of amp is it.

if the fuses on the amp are blowing with no power wire connected then your amp is fucked
if the fuse on your amp are blowing and the power and ground are not connected then your lieing or your **** is really fucked.
if you connected + to - and - to + by missteak then you may have roasted your amp ...what type of amp is it

Is the Amp in High power or High current Mode?
Check the speakers and speaker leads for shorts and check to make sure your not over heating the amp (theres enough air space around it to breath)
In your owners manual it states:
"Your amplifier also incorporates an innovative Fault Diagnosis system that
identifies a blown power supply fuse.
0 If you experience blown main power fuses, DO NOT increase values beyond
20 amp (each) fuses"
Obviusly this is an issue with these amps
