Help with Pioneer Premier CD Player

I have a Pioneer Premier DEH-5800MP.

On the back of the CD player there is a headphone jack.

What do I need to do to make it work with an Ipod or something.

I used a cable and plugged it directly into my Ipod and don't know how to make the music play through the speakers.

What am I missing.

For some reason I can't find help on the net.

Get an auxilary cable and run it to the front of the HU. Then connect the mp3 player through the headphone jack to it. Now turn the HU to AUX mode (should be a source selection on the HU), and turn the mp3 player on to a song you want to hear with the volume up.

what year is the player?

nvm its an older one.... Guess what it doesnt have a aux in. but it does have an ipod input. Take it to a local pioneer dealer and see if they have one to hook up to it. shouldnt be more then 25 bucks
