help with wiring

help with wiring

so im about to put red led's in the footwells again, i have them right here infront of me. im just trying to figure out which wire is + and -. neither are labeled (yes, theyre cheap led strips). the rubber coating on both is clear, but 1 wire has more of a silver/greyish tone and the other has more of a gold/bronze/copper tone.

any idea's which is which, i was gunna take out a battery and test it on my tv remote but i dont wanna blow the remote out cause then i'll be fucked lol. i dont have voltmeter or multimeter w/e, just everyday **** laying around the house.

i was thinking the copper is probably ground and the normal silver is power??? copper -, silver +

???
