Hid flickering problem with H1s
Hid flickering problem with H1s
Have been running the same harness and ballasts with my 9007 bulbs with no problem. Now have my retros in with the h1 bulbs. First set of cheap ddm h1s flicker. So I bought new bulbs from morimoto thinking itwas just the bulb now these flicker also. Any ideas what is causing this? Also tried another set of ballasts from my old hids and its harness and same problem. Grounded under the fender bolts and then moved the grounds to under the headlight mounting bracket on the crash beam. Any other suggestions? The flicker isnt bad to on coming cars its just the fact I can see it and it looks shitty on walls
Yup both sides and fuse has been pulled for a few month from my old lights. All connections are secure and even got electric tape on them making sure nothing get into them. I've had this things out every weekend messing with them. Im running out of hope
lol. Only thing I can think to do is buy a all new harness and ballasts from morimoto and see if that fixes the problem. If not im completely lost, I was hoping it was a grounding problem but its looking like its not
dude, its depressing retros always need maintence. I feel like something is always not 100% with mine, especially my current ones, but ive done 2 other retros and always had little wiring demons or flickering issues.
Its sad lol. Nothing can ever go simple. If it doesn't work right with all morimoto stuff Im selling them and going back to stock lol. Much less of a headache all the time
i think about it all the time, but i guess it could be avoided by paying for retros... its out of my budget now though, i spent less than $200 on everything where a retro would be $400+
I would suggest the morimoto Ballasts and harness. If that doesn't fix it idk what will. Also retros don't "always need maintinence" if they're well built. Once I put mine in they ran flawlessly for the 8 months I had them. Still no problems with them to this day other than some leaking cuz I can't seal lights worth a damn and a loose halo connection
Thanks for all your input guys. I'll be ordering the new stuff after I return from carlisle. Mine leaked thanks to streetracinazians crafty workmanship.. *cough*, but the retrofitsource.com sealant sure took care of that problem. Im just waiting on my demon eyes to burn out now :/
