HID's for fogs only. couple questions though

i never have stepped foot into the HID game. but i was talking with a buddy and we got talking about HID's and i was thinking about buying some to try out for my fog lights only, then this spring/summer i will get some projector headlights and HID's IF my fog light experience goes well.

from what ive searched i would get between a 4k kit and a 6k kit.

i want white lights with a hint of blue and what ive saw in other threads on here to acheive that id need to stick between those K rating. what about lamp wattage? like 35w and 55w. thats where i am a little less educated about HIDs and what not.

anyone have any tips for me? or that have done HID's for their fog lights only??

I got my fog lights and low beams from ddmtuning. they are both 6k hid kits. I like them and when its not real dark out I will use the fogs only and it seems almost as bright as the low beam and fogs back when they were factory. obviously dont go as far out. But Im very happy with them. they are ddm 35w kits.

im not 100% sold on HID's. a friend of mine has gone through multiple sets (he hard wired them before they came out with plug and play) and after multiple sets he is still all about HID's. arent our fog lights h11's? or h1?

i was thinking of getting like a better light bulb but the prices ive saw HID's at,i kinda want to try them out and see what the hype is all about.

any good websites for HID's? and good customer service?

BuyHIDs offer warranties

dont turn them on and off repeditly
do use them as low beams cuz they are bright enough

good. i just looked on the website and am glad to see they offer a lifetime warranty. as long as this experience goes well i will be getting headlights this summer after a tune.

i figured the fog's alone will be alot brighter than the headlights.

whats the deal with these retro headlights? do they cost a ton and do any vendors offer projector headlights?

No problems with melting the OEM housing with the 35Ws? I know on the G8 some people get melting at 35W and some have not.

nope, not at all. G8 owners are melting the plastic lens on the housing right? Our housings are all metal I think. And the lens is glass.

The reason you shouldn't run 55w in our housing is because the extra heat can burn the chrome on the reflector bowl because it is such a small projector.
