High output alt

Any one herd anything about these guys?

I'm running a over 1000w system
With air ride compressors,
And a tv installed on the trunk lid

Looking to run 2 batteries wired in parralel
And looking for a high output alt

There is a local guy here in oakville who will put new windings/internals to get more output of your alt. I'll ask my co worker who exactly it is that did his. He's had it form2 years now working flawlessly. It was a good bump in output. Notnsurenif it will be enough for you. I also know it was fairly cheap as well. I'll let you know tomorrow if I remember.

lol no. I will ask him for you. I am thinking that you are asking too much of any battery. Based on my experience, just leaving the headlights on (HID) on any of my cars takes care of draining the battery in about 15-20 minutes.

When the battery was new with no issues I ran my Xbox and tv and my front halos on for about an hour before the battery died. Now battery doesn't hold a charge for ten seconds lol

I'm thinking I have enough room to run 2 yellow tops wire um together in parallel, with a high output alt I should be good.

I am not a huge fan of yellow tops, we have lots of customers buying them for their corvettes as they just gotta have them. But they dont appear to be magic. I will talk to Tim this am and let you know. Your battery wont last for ever in that service cycle. FYI I give my batteries in all my cars a refreshing overnight trickle charge every couple of months or so...

Ok Tim says the alternator is fine, making it even higher output wont help. The problem is the battery is a reserve, you are using it a lot with the engine off; when you restart the batteries charge no problem. BUT
#1 your current battery is dead, need a new one.
#2 regardless of what battery you install, for what you want to do, two batteries would give you more reserve.
#3 dont blame the alternator thats not the issue, reserve is what you need.
#4 just install another battery beside the other one. You can make it switcheable, or however you wish. Maybe a deep cycle marine battery for the second battery would be a good idea...

good luck.

right i agree but hes going to want enough reserve to hopefully never completely drain the batteries. Whenever the batteries fully drain is when you start running into issues. deep cycle batteries will handle this better then a normal battery BUT if it can be avoided all together that's a serious advantage. also your batteries are going to want to be the same. i know that's your current goal but just make sure that you get 2 that are not only the same brand and model but preferably manufactured around the same time as well. lastly its inevitable that you are going to drain the batteries completely... while it should be avoided, more than likely its still going to happen so if it does you want to make sure your are able to charge them back up as fast as possible, thats really going to be the only advantage of the high output alternator. since you really should only be discharging the batteries during car shows if you have access to an electrical outlet then a nice batt charger would be a better investment than the HO alt as well

here
Mechman High Output Chevy Cobalt Alternator
choose 2.2 or 2.4 the 2.0 s/c wont work in your car.
go spend your money lol. Then buy two batteries when you finally realise the stock alternator does just fine...
