High Output Alt

i dont know if anyones looked into this or not...

But i was curious to see if there were any HO options cause they were hard to find for my saturn....

Anyways, i found https://www.dcpowerinc.com/high-outp...ine=2.0L+Turbo so i figured i'd share....

What is our stock alt good for be it idle amp, and max output amp?

1500 rpms at 130 amps. I just put a 145 amp alt in from a 07 solstice. 219.00 bucks

It puts out 165 at 2800 rpms according to the sheet.

i mean granted i have a 600W system in a Saturn, with an alt boasting a whopping 90amp at running speed output and i've had no issues... maybe its due to my capasiter? no idea...

But i do plan to go moderately bigger in the balt... Double Din, hidden mounted rear view(cause i want to be ninja) and 1000-1500watt system...

Its heavier yes, but i dont AutoX nor drag(although i will on occasion) but oh well i like good sounding systems, that can also make your eyeballs shake in your head hah

right theres really alot of things that come into play but for a 1500w RMS system you dont really need to upgrade the alt. Upgrading the battery and wiring would be a great idea but unless you are hardcore you shouldnt need anything more than that

A high output alt is always a good idea if you plan to run any kind of system. Capacitors are basically bandaids for the bigger problem that the alt output doesn't suffice for both your electrical system and the aftermarket audio system. You could also look into an audio based battery. Pricey but much better than duralast or some autozone based battery, something like Kinetik. I have yet to upgrade the alt in my current car, and my lights dim with 800 watts at 2 ohms.

If thats to me, yes. The lights dimmed a substantial amount at 2 ohms.

Yesterday I took the box and sub out, opened up the box, resealed with silicone, and siliconed the sub and box together to get this thing to quit leaking air. Wired to 8 ohms while I had everything out of the car. Lights aren't dimming now, 2 ohms was too much for the sub I guess. Likely I had the gain set too high, if I wailed on it for awhile I'd start to smell the coil a little bit

Sorry for the off-topic OP.
