How Do you Use Wire Taps?
The wire taps Ive used work this way.......They're actually called a tap splice. you take the wire you want to tap into and place it in the slot that runs all the way through the tap slice. Then you take the wire you want to hook up and place it in the other slot (the one that dosent go all the way through). You then take a pair of pliers and mash down the metal splice sticking out the top and seal the splice. I'll post of pic of what I'm talking about.
You cut the wire and re-solder the original connection. Your gonna have to do that anyway if you ever want to take it off and still have a GOOD connection in the original wiring. Tap splices dont hold together very well over time. Especially in a hot enviorment like the engine compartment.
