How much space is there behind the radio?

Hey whats up guys,
I wanna put a double din dvd/nav system in my car.I park my car out in the street and there are some lowlifes that roam the streets at night that might want the radio more than me.Im thinking of setting the radio back alittle bit more in the dash and taking the front face plate off the stock radio, and use it to cover up the aftermarket radio. So my question is,is there enough room to mount the radio further back?Im not sure which radio i want,so i cant give you any dimensions on the depth and all that crap.I dont care if i have to cut alot of **** out behind the radio aslong as it will work.

My bud with an NA SS just put velcro on the stock faceplate, and with some dremelling, he slapped it on the front of his 2 din avic with no problems. I don't think you will have to set the radio back far, just cut the back of the stock faceplate to make it flush. Andrew, if you see this, maybe throw up a pic so he can see how good your "faceplate" looks...

lol until an installer has to **** with that **** (assuming u sold the car)

no theres not enough space for that kind of nonsense. if you remove the plastic and metal bar in the rear you might be able to do it but with a double din pushed back i would be concerned with you your going to keep it secure
