HUD mod?

I was searching the forums but so far I haven't found anything on it. Maybe I'm searching for the wrong terms, but anyhoo:

Does anyone know if there is any way to mod the HUD on my 2007 Cobalt LS so that instead of displaying the useless average speed, it displays a live Speedometer feed? THIS would be useful...errr... ok maybe not useful, but the geek factor is definitively there. lol

Never heard of it. I also don't believe anyone has done this either. You can be the first.

i had always thought that the HUDs in vettes and cadillacs used a special sort of windshield glass to properly display the readout. if you didn't have the coating or whatnot on the glass, the readout wouldn't work.

they do, or atleast used to in the 90's when they came out. i found that out from an insurance company glass repair guy. he repaired the windshields so the people wouldnt have to replace the entire windshield compromising different aspects for the car.
