Installing GM Navigation?

I am thinking of getting a factory navigation unit out of an 2006 vette, but i was wondering which unit i would need. I have an 05 ss cobalt with the Pioneer 7 speaker system, but wasnt sure if i would need the unit that came out with a Bose 7 speaker or just a standard unit since i have the 7 speaker also. If anyone knows the answer please let me know. Also by the way i will only put a stock radio in since i have a friend who works at a salvage yard and he can get the units free before they hit the yard, so please dont tell me to go aftermarket.

That's pretty much what you're gonna have to do, Because that head unit won't work with the 'Balt's ECM, Cuz of Theft Protection codes not matching. You WILL have to go aftermarket. Can anyone back me up on this?

as far as i've ever been aware, as long as the harness matches, all GM stock headunits are plug and play. if you run into theftlock problems then that has nothing to do with your car, you just need to go to a dealership to get the thing unlocked.

hope that helps, but i mean if you're getting it for free you might as well try it...
