installing stock xm on stock head unit
i bought an 06 ss/sc a couple weeks ago and found the stock xm radio in the glove compartment in an envelope. i have no idea where it mounts or where the wires are. i assume it was previously installed on the car since it cam with it. i pulled off the radio bezel and found a very long antenna wire and plugged it up but im not sure where the power wire or line out wire is and where to even plug in the line out on the stock head unit. any info and pics would be greatly appreciated.

at the very least, to get that to work, you'd have to buy a cigarette lighter power adapter ( think you can get them at xmradio.com). a better idea, if you want to pay for xm and use that receiver, would be to get one of the antenna interrupt kits. sound quality is much better than the included fm transmitter. if you find the right kind of mount (the sirius universal window mount works) you can do a fairly well integrated install by mounting the thing between the shifter and ebrake, running all wires behind the dash/console panels, and tapping off the power line to add a 3rd outlet, all of which can be hidden behind the shifter trim panel.
