ya doesnt best buy carry it?

i ran mine to the lil pocket along with my usb connection so they are easily accessed. I also got lucky and my flash drive fits perfect and allows the pocket to open and close with it connected (its glued in place)

i ran mine to the center console, and bought a 5 dollar phone mount from autozone. i used strong double sticky tape, and put it on my ebrake(im auto so dont use it alot). its easy to get to and keeps it out of the way.

The ones that best buy sells are the universal ones, I think they are about $25 I know you can pick them up way cheaper though.

Has anybody in here installed the Ipod adaptor yet? I think I can handle the mechanical install OK but toward the end of the instructions they mention hooking up the Tech2 to "enable XM". I already have XM so I'm assuming it has already been enabled. Can somebody straighten me out on this? I hate like hell taking the car in after I have already installed the hardware and ask them to jkust "enable" XM, knowing full well they're going to tell me I did it wrong and it has to be reinstalled by them. After reading all the instructions I can almost understand why the dealers charge so much to install it.

Mine is directly connected to my Pioneer F700 BT and I wired it into the small compartment to the left of the steering wheel.

I installed my GM personal audio link as well. They charged me 1 hour of labor ($99) to connect it to the Tech II and add XM back into the loop. I argued that the procedure took less than a minute to complete so they reduced the price to $49. BS but just be prepared to pay.

As for where I mounted my ipod, its not really mounted, just sits in the tray to the left of the steering wheel.

Like someone else mentioned, I ran mine under the center console, out the e-brake hole and into the tray underneath the parking brake handle. Since it works with my steering wheel controls (USB port) I don't need to really access it much, only to turn it off.

i have an aftermarket head unit, so i put a rubber layer down in the little pocket under the head unit, and the iPod chills there just fine. Before that, it would stay in the cupholder

I did the install myself. I'm wondering about the Tech2 part though. My radio still recognizes XM, although I don't subscribe, and Ipod. It then says no Ipod connected. I guess that's because I don't own an Ipod yet. But why would I need the Tech2 if the head unit already sees the XM AND the Ipod???

That's a good idea to put the Ipod in the arm rest.

I have another problem with the Cruise Control. After doing the Ipod install I put 32 LEDs in the High Level Brake Light. Now the cruise don't work??? I'm wondering if that wire that has to be cut for the PAL might have something to do with it.

When you switch to XM, do you get the XM1 preview channel? If so then you dont need to do anything!

XM only shows "XM1" and thats it. Try to select any other channel it just scrolls through, I guess, Ipod functions. If hte radio works, which it does, and the Ipod works, which I think is working, I really don't need XM. I just ordered a Touch on line. I'm going to have to go back to school to learn how to operate yhe thing. Got a demo at Radio Shack today. The thing is, and I HATE the word, AWSOME. Now if I could only get the cruise to work. I'm thinking maybe there isn't enough current draw off the three bulbs in the high level brake lite to activate it. The LEDs draw NOTHING.

Where did you find enough wire to get all the way over there to the left hand compartment?
