i just bought a double din DVD touch screen and i bought the wireing harness and antenna apater....i have a 05 ss/sc do i just hook up the harness like normal and will all my speaker work

 

as long as you hook up the pink wire in the facotry harness to the remote off your double din (and assuming u didnt get one of the crap harnesses with the wrong pinouts that ive delt with and herd of)

i wrote it in caps lock lol and thats how it fixes itself

 

on the factory harness theres a bunch of wires with various colors... find the pink one and eirther look to see it i has a wire coming out of it or cut it and attach to ur remote wire

no you dont need to do that at all, which harness did you get if it is the 70-2103 or the xsvi-2103 you are fine, connect the blue antenna/amp turn on wire from the head unit to the blue wire on the 2103 harness and your amp and all your speakers will work, iv done it on 3 cars now, all ss/sc's with the pioneer system, one of each year actually

 

i got the 70-2003 thats what they gave me at best buy

 

thats the wrong one should be the 2103

for your year, same as the 06 which i have

and then just hook up the blue wire like i said and it will work perfectly

i just confirmed the numbers again with metra. it is for sure th 70-2103

soo ill just exchange it and get that one then....they tried to sell me this one unit that was 130

 

yeah thats useless for your year, just get the 7103 and your good. the expensive one is useless on our year cars

 

=( when i did mine they still didnt have a plug n play cheap harness, i had to buy a generic GM and repin it.

 

now do i have to hook up a separate power to a fuse or no

 

yeah you will have to run the red wire your self, there is a spare fuse in the panel down on the passenger side.

no thats bull **** you dont need to do that, just get the harness 70-2103. it works perfect, most bets buy installers dont know thier head from thier ass. notice i said most.

yeah you need the double din kit from metra, best buy doesnt sell them, you will have to look for a local audio shop to get it from, if you cant find it i have 3 shops here and they keep them in stock all the time

i get mine from them when i do the double din installs cause its the same kit for a few of these cars
