Just a quick ?

Since I have a LED 3rd brake light, it stops my cruise control from working. If I put a resistor on the LED, will my cruise control work again? (yes I tried searching)

It's obviously not the brake light, nor would a resistor make a difference. Did you make any other changes?

Actually damn you're right... what if it's the cumulative current being drawn by the brake lights that triggers it? Then replacing with LED's could certainly screw it up.. but that would mean everyone that has switched their tails or CHMSL would have the same problem. Is this the case?

There's a topic on here some where I read a long time ago saying that putting a led 3rd break light in stops the CC from working. Don't bash me..... It's what YOU people said.

FINALLY I found it. Here, RIGHT HERE:

Dash indicators reporting burnt out bulbs
LED bulbs may cause some newer vehicles to indicate a bulb is burnt out (because of their low power consumption). Some cars indicate this by increasing the flash rate of the turn signals, some turn on a bad bulb indicator. The only fix for this is to install Load Resistors across the bulbs that are being indicated as bad. Some vehicles will also disable the cruise control system if a brake light bulb is being indicated as bad, the installation of Load Resistors will also solve this problem.

Soooo I guess I pretty much answered my own question then. Hmm bet you guys are feeling salty now. PWNT!!!!!!!!!!!

thats for turn signals there buddy. the 3rd brake light shouldnt care what load if any it has.... think GM would start disabling your cruise just bc ur 3rd brake burnt out? sounds a bit fishy if you ask me. (especially since i have the led 3rd brake light... no issues)

you shouldn't be resting your foot on the clutch, doesn't matter how light it is.

OR get a load resistor like it says.

well yeah...that too but IMO its easier to switch back to stock which takes all of what 2 min to see if the LED is actually causing the problem instead of making a post on here...waiting for answers...going to the store...finding the right size load resistor and splicing it into the wiring which is prob gonna take a lot longer.

problem solving>you
