Kenwood DNX8120

Hi all

Picked up one of these today. What do think the install will be like? Should I leave it up to the pros?

Have you installed a system before? If not, take it to a shop... If so then consider how long you want to spend trying to get it installed. If the answer is less than a day then take it to a shop.... Not saying you can't do it in less than a day, but be aware that with you car and the fact that everything runs through your radio you could easily get in over your head...

I have installed systems before, but not a head unit like this one, just more common head units, amps, etc. The last one I did was in my previously owned Pontiac Grand Prix GTP, but it didn't have the fancy stuff like what the current GM cars have. The shop wants to charge me for a half a day of labour, so even if it took me a day (saying that I did), I would save myself $250.00 bucks.

I am almost positive that the new GMOS LAS 04's have the speed sensor wire right in the harness.

I have the DDX-512 and added the nav adapter to it and love it. Kenwood FTW! The install is pretty basic. A couple more wires than a normal head unit but overall its a pretty simple install and would suggest that you do it yourself and save some money

That's excellent, looks great. Seeing the head unit in place, I think I'm going to change my HVAC controls to black to balance things out.
