Keyfob question

Keyfob question

My keyfob is dead, i tried a new battery, i tried to soder broken pieces, no luck. I have a spare gm key fob from a pontiac of similiar vintage can i reprogram that fob for my balt? Thanks

I have tried to repair 2 of my fobs also. I think the circuit board got too hot. And the new one I got to work I think was from a g6. As long as it the same part number on it should be reprogrammable. But don't quote me.

Had the same thing happen to mine. Took an old fob from my blazer to the dealer to see if they could reprogram it for the cobalt. No dice, they told me they cant reprogram any fobs from other vehicles to another vehicle. So I broke down and bought one.
