well i got the solobaric s12l7, omfg this amp is the greatest. its absolutly amazing, trust me. When people hear my system there shoced to only see 1 12" pumping out that kind of power. Its the amp, kickers are made to be loud, nothing else, and this amp doesw the job.

Dual 2ohm and Dual 4ohm are the choices for the sub.

If you get the dual 2ohm version you have to wire it in series (running it parallel will bring you down to a 1ohm load, which the amp is not capable of handling) Running it in series will leave you with a 4 ohm load which will give you 500 watts

If you get the dual 4ohm, you can run it parallel, this will give you a 2 ohm load, and the advertised 1000 watts that the amp puts out

Makes a big difference, doesn't it

I think thats what he (EmperorJJ1) was trying to get at, but I could be wrong.

Heres a link to the owners manual fron the sub, its all in there

I was under the impression that you guys all walked on water

They will set up what ever you give them but like he said they can only work with the gear there given.

No offence to any installers, but most of them won't even say anything about your **** not matching up right untill you come back a week later going "I thought it would pound alot harder than that" then they talk you into buying the right gear.
Its not there fault really, I guess its like paying idiot tax, someones gotta charge it, and someones gotta be the idiot, its the way the world works.

Now I'm not saying your an idiot, but if you choose to ignore the advice you have been given here and think you know better, or that it couldn't happen to you then you'll find out the hard way.

I understand if you already have the 2ohm sub bought and are stuck with it, all you have to do is find an amp that is stable down to 1 ohm, for the price your willing to pay for that Kicker, it shouldn't be to hard
For example the Rockford Fosgate Punch P1000-1bd puts out the same wattage for the same price but it is 1ohm stable

Im actually learning Cause i thought if i bought the 2ohm sub i can wire it up to the amp and get the whole 1,000Watts but i see that i have to buy the 4ohm which is really not a problem. I really appreciate the advice you guys are giving and if it wasnt from you guys on the net i would be buying the wrong sub

lol u would be surprised... our shop has pulled alot of **** out of our asses (last one was soldering on a RCA output to a dvd player when he lost the cable... mind u i did call his ass first thing since i didnt want to install it but i was out of luck and had to make **** work)

i sorta agree with the idiot tax sometimes but most times it can be avoided. If u come and talk to me ill help u out but no "i want to install a cd player can u help me?" then come back with cut wires everywhere and broken dash pieces. Thats when msrp comes into play... 25 per harness and i will make u buy a reverse (reg price is 10 to 15 depending if i like u) 40 for dash kit (reg 20) and 80 for me to touch it. total 170... regular price for a deck install 35+ 25 (dash kit and harness combo)

smart people dont let friends install cd players

Wow thats a good deal, hard to pick one.
I would stick to the 15, even though the 2 12's and the 1500.1 are a smoking deal, when you start running two dvc subs and a 1500 watt amp you run into a few problems. Electrical is one of them, nothing as major as a new alt. but a bigger battery is a good Idea. In any case you should redo the grounds on the battery to atleast 2 gauge 0 if you can swing it.
Another problem is your front end, think about upgrading soon, that much power in the trunk will tend to drown out the front end, all bass + no highs = not being able to hear the song....Don't be that guy

I dunno, the 15 will give more bass, if thats what your looking for. The 12's will have a little more punch rather than the boom of the 15, all depends on who's setting it up.

One things for sure, its going to rattle like hell. The Cobalts are just redonkulous in the rattle department. Get some sound deadner in before you have the system put in, much easier than pulling the damn thing out later.

I forgot, getting the 15 to fit in the trunk might be an issue, I don't know for sure if it is or is not possible. I know EmperorJJ1 shoe horned a couple into his trunk but I think he had to put the box in, in stages. He will know better than I do

i would go with the single 15 due to electrical issues too. plus i like 15s. But the 12s should be louder by far

oh ya and make sure the box fits. im assuming ur getting a prefab and most dont fit out trunk.
