LED 3rd brake light disables my cruise control

Apparently I need a load resistor to correct the problem. But I have no idea what kind I need. Does anyone know what kind I need? I already tested it out switching between stock, and the LED. It's definitely the LED that causes my cruise control to stop working. Because of less power flow, the car assumes a bulb is out. So it disables the cruise control. The cruise control light goes on, but it won't engage.
I got the light from a member at a cobalt meet. It looks like it comes from modern performance.

Got it for you. I had to purchase two of these for my LED conversion. 2 more for the fron turns. Its a great lil dilly.

I took my car to a guy to have my LED lights professionally wired, and had him look at my 3rd brake light as well. He put this on, and it worked.

So when that touches metal the fuse will blow and you'll have no brake light and come to the forum saying, "I have no brake lights OMG!!"

what you need to do is measure the resistance across the stock light than measure the resistance across the LED light than subtract the difference and buy the resistor that is closest to that. If you dont know what I am talking about just get it professionally done.

Man you guys are misunderstanding me. I took it to a guy who specializes in alarms and electrical stuff. He installed my dash lights and grill lights to switches. Since I had no clue how to and didn't wanna mess with it my self. I rather have it done professionally. So I took it to him. AFTER he was done with that I asked him about the cruise control issue. He stood there for 3 min thinking, went back in the garage, came back out and put that little thing on. Then told me to test it and it worked.
^^^ you my friend need to come to new mexico and see what i see on a daily basis
just clean that up and tape it and u should be fine. I still dont see how in gods name that came about and i sure as hell wouldnt let that fly in my car but whatever its really just cosmetics until you fry something

I don't see how your LED light was screwing with the cruise control. I had the Modern Performance light installed on my car and it never did that, then I swapped it for the light from an Impala since it's brighter, still doesn't do that. I even have LEDs installed in practically every location on my car and my cruise works fine. I had to install load resistors for my front signals but still, that's only to stop the hyperblink effect.
On another note, the bulbs on superbrightleds look like junk to me. Of all those bulbs, 95% seem to use forward-facing LEDs only. This type is total crap for use on vehicles if you want it to look nice and bright. I much prefer the types of bulbs with LEDs that fire in all directions so that the entire reflector in a light housing is lit up, rather than just the front of it.
On another note, the bulbs on superbrightleds look like junk to me. Of all those bulbs, 95% seem to use forward-facing LEDs only. This type is total crap for use on vehicles if you want it to look nice and bright. I much prefer the types of bulbs with LEDs that fire in all directions so that the entire reflector in a light housing is lit up, rather than just the front of it.
