LEDs in map lights keep glowing

So I swapped my trunk light, liscence plate light, reverse lights, and map lights with white LEDs. Everything seems fine except after the map lights dim down, they glow just enough to illuminate the lenses on the map lights. And they continue to glow for days without getting in the car. They haven't drained the battery, yet. The car isn't my daily driver so sometimes it could be weeks between times I drive it. Wondering if anyone else has had this issue?

This is asked so much on here. A simple search you would find out why. It's because the led needs a resistor.

But like said above, it won't cause harm.

Would you happen to know how many ohm resistor and can I just attach it across the led? Or would that create too much heat in the rear view mirror?

1 in each led. 1ohm. You can get a pack at radio shack for like $1.60. It needs to be soldered.

Get these bulbs and even though they say oversize they will fit as I have them on my car and I have no issues with the dimming at all, they completely shut off with no dimming once door is closed like the stock 194 bulbs.

Ya you can buy LEDs that already have resistors.
