A little help..

So I searched the threads and haven't found this so my question is....

if i go with an aftermarket stereo is the xm radio i have stock gonna work with it or do i need to buy an aftermarket xm also? I know all i have to do is call xm and tell them the new code for the stereo and they will transfer it over but they didnt know about the aftermarket xm

You have to buy a headunit that supports XM. If the new headunit is XM-ready then just transfer. Otherwise you'll need a standalone XM receiver.

so if it offers it as an accessory then i will have to get rid of the stock intenna and stuff right or no?

It depends. If it uses the stock wiring harness in some way, probably not, it should work I would think.

Why not just ask when you buy the HU? Or go browse around a car audio place and ask one of the techs if it works.

That's like speaking in Chinese to me, I don't do car audio at all.

I would just say if the antenna is there, it's just an antenna. If there's a way to wire it to the new HU, then it should theoretically work.
