Looking for the VSS wire.

I'm trying to tap into the VSS wire for my Pioneer AVIC-D3, I've read that it can be tapped through the BCM C2 gray wire at pin 62, but I found 2 gray wires and I don't know which one to tap into. Here's a pic of what I'm talking about

I thought it was pin 61...same pin as cruise signal.

You are going to have to pop off the blue top cover, so you can get to the correct wire by pin number.

The pins are labeled

I HATE to bump an old thread, but this is what searching gets you .

I popped off the blue cover, but found the pins un labeled, can anyone teach me how to read pins?

I thought u had to get the wire from the ecu itself

No, you can use the ECU, the one on the BCM or the less reliable one behind the speedo. I'm shooting for this one.

Thanks 07MetallicSC, that's where I originally got it from. Great site. The only problem is I don't know how to read the pins, it's supposed to be pin 61 in the vertical BCM connector in the kick panel but I'm not sure which one that is.

Do I look at it and count from rows from the left?

as in -

1 2 3 4 5
6 7 8 9 10

Eg for a 10 pin connector? Google hasn't helped me a ton here and I can't find a BCM Pinout diagram anywhere for the cobalt.

If your looking at the pins themselves ( the side that plugs in) with the long white tab to left, the pins should count 55 -72 on the top row from right to left. Pin 61 is grey and should be next to a white/ Black wire in pin 62. Or you can go to the "how to" threads on the site and look at the one titled adding cruise and stereo controls and it will show you a pic thats numbered

You shouldn't need the VSS wire. I never hooked mine up and everything works fine.
