MP3 help
MP3 help
I am not the greatest on computers so I need a little help. How do I burn MP3's? I have downloaded songs and burned them to cd but I don't know where/how to download or get MP3 files and I don't know how to put them to cd. Also, can I take the cds that I have now and make them into MP3 cds? I have a cd player in the car that can play them and I would love to not have to have a binder of 150+ cds in the car. Thanks for the help in advance!

Dan,
What OS are you running? There are a few ways to burn CDs.
With XP the easiest way would be:
1. create a folder
2. Right click
3. Send to CD-RW (or DVD-RW, CD-R but the drive and letter that your burner is)
No third party software needed. (most stink anyway other then Nero)
I think the BEST place to get MP3s is:
http://www.allofmp3.com/
1. Dont have to worry about bad MP3s (viruses, 1/2 songs etc.)
2. Cheaper than iTunes (most songs only pennies per song, average being less than 0.10 per song, and the most per song i've seen is maybe 0.18 full CD's for like 1.00 - 3.00 or under)
3. ID tags are correct (can be read on our players. i.e. Title, Album, Artist)
It even has a nice app you can download that you can log into and use to search for songs and stuff.
If you have another OS other than XP let me know and i will send you some info.

Hey thanks! So all I have to do is download the song in MP3 format instead of the format that I have gotten in the past, send it to my designated folder, and then burn them? That sounds easy enough! I do have XP. So There is no way of taking the cds I have and putting them into MP3 format? Thanks again!

Yes there is a way to convert your CD's to MP3's.
iTunes does it nice and easy.
Windows Media Player does it
And there are a million 3rd party apps that do it.
What i do is:
1. I use iTunes for all my songs. I just really like the interface and how it catalogs the songs for me.
2. Use allofmp3 to get new songs or just rip my cd's via itunes (make sure importing is set to MP3 on iTunes though)
3. Take the folders that iTunes sets up because it does a nice job at Consolidating (sp?) and grouping Songs by, Artist and CD.
4. Make a New Folder somewhere
5. Drag folders (because now that i can fit a TON of songs on a CD no reason to just drag songs) like say the whole Green Day Catalog into that folder.
6. Highlight EVERYTHING in that folder (but not the root New Folder but EVERYTHING inside it)
7. Right Click
8. Send to DVD-RW
9. Pop it in the Car and Enjoy!!!

there are some music programs that automaticly convert audio files to mp3 files when you download the music on to your computer. depending on the program you use you ll just have to choose mp3 format before burning you cd. i use musicmatch jukebox. i believe you can download a free version of it so you can burn cds (or mp3 cds) hope that helps.. a little
