Should have the multimeter set to 20v DC, at the other side of the scale.

This. In this setting it will give you a correct t readout. Since you charged it and it read 11.86 then you probablyneed a new battery.

needs a paint job, lol If its sold already and getting paid, just go to walmart, or like a costless autoparts, and buy the cheapest battery possible, even the cheap ones last around a year.

Yeah nothing more than a basic tricle charger. It will take hours depending on size of the battery... plug in and go watch a movie lol

ur battery is probably well fucked and now unusable. Put the charger on the lowest setting and leave it like that for several hours.

put the battery in the car, all the guages came to life. battery guage was halfway like normal. turned it over one time and zapped all the juice out of it. all the lights/guagew went out. hookes up the cables to the cobalt, mustang fired right up. shes running right now. so looks like im taking this battery back to my guys and having them fix it. I crank that car at least once a week, and the battery is two months old. is it feasible that the battery is faulty or just thats how they get killed?

if the highest you get is 11.66 while charging and it immediately drops they battery is gone. i have only seen a hail mary work once where a battery was on charged at 1a for like 30 hours that came back to life but it was a deep cycle AGM battery that was basically new. you can try it but with the high amperage charging you have done idk if it will work for you... highly improbable
