My step by Step Process of a Fiberglass Encloser.

Me and my brother built this, one of the hardest things i have ever done!

We started with the base, then desided hell make it larger and added a peice that makes it fit up to the back seats.

Basic Starting

Added little notches to the sub rings due to i have Kicker Comp subs and wanted to add the grills

Everything added, Amp Rack, TV, and Power Cap

Here it is in my trunk

Cotton On it

More pics to come.

Up Dated

Fiberglass added, ran out of resin just need to put more on over the lil areas we didnt doo.

Looks sweet man! Isn't your battery located in the trunk? Or is it just on the SS/SC's? That would be a bitch to get to.

yes the battery is loctaed in the trunk, but with my old sub box i had in there i would had to take the back seats right out of my car to get my subs out, with this fiberglass encloser, i can take it in and out of my truck thru the opening, but at the same time with the cobalts you dont need to put jumpers on the battery, they have a power terminal in the front, and ground the jumpers out on anything, due to the spare tire, same i dea take out the box and im all set!
but also i have roadside assistance, they bring me a spare tire

looking pretty good only thing i would have suggested is to use a stretchy material like the stuff they make swimsuits with and streching it more before applying the resin

what did you use to cut the circles? I'm going to be making my own enclosure soon... mine will be wooden but I can seem to figure out what to use.. aside from the long tedious process

When making a encloser with fiberglass you must use 100% cotton, due to my brothers mis hap on that it was left a little lose, but we fixed it with fiber glass, with a second layer, now we are woking on bondo.
i will get a pick posted when we finished the bondo

im not sure who told you that but i know a guy who has done insane fiberglass builds and never uses cotton... always the strechy suimsuit material because its easier to strech

Ive always seen cotton fleece used for fiberglass, never swimsuit material. It all does the same **** though. Cotton will absorb more resin and probably be stronger in the end.

yup the cotton will absorb more resin which could be stronger but if your building for strength your going to want to use more fiberglass less of the shaping material.

and sry if i sounded like an ass pyke but i was just trying to help... the material you use actually doesnt matter much but imo it looks better stretched out more because it flows and is a little easier to sand and such so the more strechy the material the better. (but i forgot to admit that probably 75+% of all fiberglass audio stuff is done with the cotton) hope to see more pics and progress
