My step by Step Process of a Fiberglass Encloser.
yeah its a arm thing, i think the center screws in and the arm swings around. kinda is good for me because i have the solo barics. square subs FTW
lowes has the stuff. a pint of resin is about $13. a 3x3 mat of fiber glass is about $3. it takes serveral layers. your looking at around 75 - 100 for a good box. then you gotta buy some wood, dowels, and glue.
When making your circles you should do the circle of yours subs, then ones you have done that to be safe add another 2 inchs all around the circle.
the cost so far for this box paint, wood, fiberglass costed around $150
its been a week and still not done, mainly cause i work 12- 18 hour days
thanks for all the comments

yeah but that was before all the fiberglassing and all. I see you must be going in from the trunk because of the way the platform is built. that would make it to where it cant go in from the back seat. But it looks to big to be able to go in the trunk is what im saying
you can also use screen or chicken wire to form a mold ... or even cardboard and duct-tape over the card board then rip the card board out after ... Duct-tape is one of the few things fiberglass will not stick too.
i made the fenders, saddlebags (covered in leather) and tank on this out of fiberglass

looks good, im going to start mine soon. 1 question though.
subs need a specific airspace for maximum sound quality, how do you know how big your enclosure is going to be? i know you can fill it with water and then measure it that way. but how do you know before you build it?

-all in all it looks good but I def would have went with a stretchier material and pulled everything tight. also you don't need a thick cloth for the first wrapping. you just need a base to lay on the real reinforcement that comes with layers of fg mat. CA glue and staples are your best friend and will help make a project like this look tight. all i have to say is have fun sanding and dont use to much bondo (which i hate, try rage gold) or else the box might be a little stress prone to cracking etc. good luck with the finish.
wow. from my experience you would have saved alot of time if you would have pulled the cotton tighter. personaly i use fleece it strechs alot more. plus it bein all wrinkle on the inside is really gonna effect the sound of your subs. are you gonna do anything on the inside to clean it up?? but anyhow looks good cant wait so see it finished. are you gonna paint it or cover it woth something????
im painting the box the same color as my car with some blue, i am putting hidden blue tube lights in my trunk to help make it look decent.
yea i guess this is all basic trial and error, i hope it turns out decent atlease.
