New Amp Install in my ride
New Amp Install in my ride
I've installed a Rocford Fosgate 450.4 in my car. I've impressed myself with how clean the install is. I will get some pics soon.
Only downside is that i had to cut the terminals off of the cabling for the battery and use different battery taps to accomodate my amp and future amps.....( i might take pics of that as well)

Mids and highs.
Factory amp is running the factory sub.
Im really unimpressed with the Rockford I have in the car. It really doesnt sound any different than the Factory amp that is already in there...Looks cool though

wait so first post ur impressed now ur not? did you by chance swap speakers or are they stock? and how is your install? did u bypass the factory amp for mids and highs or did u just hook it up so the fosgate will be a powerful line driver for ur stock amp
Im impressed with how clean the install looks. The sound quality is about the same w/ factory amp and aftermarket speakers.

Uhm, its set up right, i notice a difference between stock and aftermarket....
I replaced the factory speakers w/o aftermarket Amp
then i bought an amp and installed it and it does not sound much different.
what im getting at is that I think the factory amp is just as powerful as the aftermarket.
yes, all is right. Hard to mess up Positives and negatives.
Ohm loads are all @ 4 which is above the minimum which is 2 ohm. But if i wire them in at 2 ohm, i lose stereo which defeats the purpose of what i want to do.
The voice coils of the infinity 6x9 are 4 ohm, 100 watt rms. The alpine Type-R 6.5 components are also 4 ohm.
I just think I need a more powerful amp.
So, for clarification purposes, I know my setup is installed properly.
Im referencing the FACTORY AMP vs ROCKFORD FOSGATE 4 channel. AHH!!!

stock power is 45 watts give or take.
fosgate power @ 4ohms is 60watts if you have it cranked
15 watts of diff isn't alot
run it at 4 ohms bridged and only set the gain to 1/3
this should run about 80-85 watts into the speakers and have a noticeable change
You know what forget it, keep it the way it is and have a shitty sounding system
BTW- F*ck You, You got a problem with Canadians

Give up your L-R balance and run it off one 2 channels unbridged (both on one side in the front and rear)
4x110 watts @ 2 ohms is what your amp is rated, set your gains at 80%
Or go buy a new amp, or 4 more speakers

i would think u should notice a difference... stock amp is rated at 350w max for all 7 speakers... at 2 ohms compared to 60w x4... even thou it doesn't do much there should be a difference. Like i said hows ur install. is there an amp bypass? is there a HPF on the speakers? are ur gains set properly? (all the above questions should be yes) is it on stock or aftermarket HU?
