New Battery.

It is winter time and I need to change out my 2005 stock battery. I am only running a after market head unit, speakers, radar detector, and gps. I might be adding a small powered sub in the summer. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good battery? It gets very cold where I am, below 0. Maybe XS power or kinetik or RedTop? Can anyone tell me the battery number for the specific battery.

I would say just a yellow top would be sufficient. I doubt your probably even pulling 100amps unless you plan on going with a big audio setup.

yellow top...batcap...or kinetik are my three personal faves. Running two batcaps in my Z right now. One runs just my audio setup but both are small enough that they fit where the stock battery was.

Replace battery in 2009 Cobalt SS

I have to replace the battery in my 2009 Cobalt SS. I am considering either the Duralast battery or the Kinetik 1200. Based on the dimension of these batteries, they should fit. Which one should I go with? The reason I want to replace the battery is that the current one does not last long with the engine off and the stereo on (maybe 10 minutes). And in this cold weather, if left alone for about a week, it does not start the car.

a little off topic question, when should i replace the battery? I heard there is not much warning before the battery goes out, is it true?

which duralast? If you are playing it with the engine off a deep cycle (liek the kinetiks) is the way to go but in the cold i wouldnt play it with the car off regardless

What kind of system do you have? You should be able to let the car sit for at least a week if not longer and it should start. Maybe you've got a drain somewhere?
