New H/U and Sub/Amp.. what a bitch to install!

So I spent most of today effin around getting it all in. It was quite a bitch to do some of it alone, like trying to drop the sub and amp into the back seat and sliding it through without damaging my leather . But yea, it's working for now.. next weekend I'll change the blue 4awg to red to match the car and find some way to strap the wiring down so it's not all over the place haha

I'll just say I would've gotten stuck a lot more if I hadn't found this site when i first got my 07 SS/SC a month ago I had so cut out some plastic behind the stock H/U and bend the metal bracket back a bit for my rca's, and then I had to take my back seats to pieces to fit the new box in. Even with the trunk latch out she still wouldn't fit >.> it's nice to know that if some moron manages to pop my trunk he'll be stopped dead haha... "@$#! how the hell did he get that in!!"

Anyways here's some basic pics, I'll tidy the box/amp up up a bit and get some overall better pics soon.

Ain't no one gonna be taking that haha

I hate the black dash kit.. I think this will inspire me to paint the whole dash trim all red or maybe a pure silver instead of that stock silver/gold color.

Nice rainbow of colors >.> The amp is a few years old but it's never failed me (it's an old RF 700s).

So next week I'll have the stock sub out and find a way to tidy that **** up. And if I have time I'll be painting my trim and calipers

Oh and it helps a LOT if you have someone to help lift the sub box up while you slide the carpet back in! I spent about 25 minutes trying to shimmy the box and carpet around from both outside and in the car haha

Thanks and yes that's a PA cap, and yes I needed the GMOS-LAN-04. I pulled out the stock H/U and hooked my battery neg back up, none of the chimes or turn signals worked.. i forgot to check the DIC, but i'd imagine it would work seeing as it's not wired through the H/U.

Amp = Rockford 700s, bridged at 2 ohms (pushing out around 700 watts rms). Bought it off my friend about 4 years ago for 150 bucks
Sub = JBL GTO1202D, the rms isn't rated at 700 rms so i turned the gain down a bit on my amp. I got this at a custom shop called Audio Illusion. It's literally right down my street, and the 2 people who run it are awesome
Headunit = JVC KD-LH300 (this needs replacing, i'm sick of the display haha)
The power cap is a Power Acoustik 1.2 farad I believe, also from Audio Illusion.
And the sub box I bought from Best Buy for 40$ when i worked there 4 years ago lol.. employee discount ftw!

The stock pioneer system sounds alright with just the sub, I don't see a reason to upgrade it just yet. I need to get my stage 2 and Injen CAI before I add more weight to my car

It pounds pretty well I have to leave it at 4 on my H/U sub power setting (out of 12 levels), and then I have the gain turned down a bit on my RF 700S and the remote bass is kept at about 1/2. The car shakes like no tomorrow.. I gotta find a way to secure my rearview mirror cuz it keeps falling down with the bass haha.. oh and needs some dynamat, it sounds like my car is made of sheet metal

I'm gonna see how much the audio shop down the street will charge me to dynamat my trunk and rear deck, I'm too lazy to do it myself lol
I'll do the doors when I replace those speakers.
