New Subs.

Ok, my step-dad just got two 12" MTX Audio subs in a box and an amp to power them for $125. He was told it was a pretty good deal. Subs are in completely good shape and work as well as the amp, but here is my delima. The amp is screwed to the back of the sub box, but it is extremely small. I mean like half the size of a normal amp. (I can't connect to their site so I don't know what kind it is), but do any of you know what it could be and if it has enough power to actually power the two subs? And do you think I got a good deal?

It screwed into the back isn't the problem, if you read the post to the end there are two questions. Do you know what kind it could be and does it have enough power to push the subs because it is so small, and do you think I got a good deal. The subs and amp are MTX brand.

Yeah, it's an MTX amp, I was at best buy and I asked the guy he said if it's the one he's thinking of then it's about 300 watts at 4 Ohms. Is that enough to push to MTX 12's? I'll try and get some pictures up in a bit.

yah typically MTX is not good stuff.. and if it's a small amp then probably the subs don't need that much power which is not good..

i cant tell you what is and isnt enough without model numbers or something. MTX makes a billion speakers currently ant they change their line up every few years so will 300w be enough? They have a 12" sub that will blow on 50w and one that will handle ~1500... i cant guess which one u have
